Good news and bad news (well only short term bad news) as expected, Judge Long decided to accept the settlement agreement that was submitted, without the agreement of the Conservation Committee, so the park will be temporarily closed ( as of Thurs) which may seem like bad news but it isn’t, not at all, because it means the lawsuit against the dog park is gone, dismissed, done with. No trial, which we could have lost, and no more monitors or restrictions can be ordered by the court. The good news is now all we are left with is determining who controls conservation land which is not an issue in front of Judge Long. With the Judge’s acceptance of the settlement agreement it opened the doors for several key "agencies" who were following this and waiting to here the outcome. They can now step in which is great.
So it may take a little while but once that gets straightened out the park will be back open without the lawsuit, restrictions etc.
As we said previously, it will take a while and cost a lot of $$$ so keep on doing what you are doing and donating!
See you all on the 20th.
